How to Join the Utah Bass Federation

There are several ways to join the federation. Become an Associate (individual) member, join an existing club that is affiliated with the federation, or form your own club and then have that club become affiliated with the Utah Bass Federation.

Associate Member

Associate members are individual members that are concerned about Bass fishing in Utah and would like to have their voice and concerns expressed to the DWR and the Utah legislator through the combined efforts of the members of the Utah Bass Federation.

As an Associate member you can participate in all federation functions that include but are not limited to, tournaments, banquets, conservation projects, seminars, and charity events.  To become an Associate Member fill out an application and check the box for Utah Bass Federation membership or check one of the other two and enjoy all of the additional benefits that they provide. Once the application is complete, send it to the address that is printed on the bottom of the application.

Club Affiliated Member

Club affiliated members enjoy all of the benefits listed above plus some. You will be able to qualify for the Utah Bass Federation state fishing team. This team travels to events scheduled in other states and competes in fishing tournaments against other state teams for the western division title. The top finisher from each state at the divisional tournaments qualifies to fish in the Federation national tournament. This tournament is held on a different lake, some where in the country, each year. The top finisher from each of the 5 divisions (Utah is in the western division) qualifies for the FLW Championship.  So far two people from Utah have been able to accomplish this task and reach the Classic.

State team members must be members of a Utah Bass Federation club that is in good standing with The Bass Federation Inc. Contact one of the Federation Officers for information on a club in your area.

Forming a new club

The Utah Bass Federation is always glad to welcome new members and to help with the formation of new affiliated clubs. There are a few minimum requirements from TBF, Inc. for clubs to be accepted into the Federation. Clubs MUST have a minimum of six members and they MUST be current members of TBF, Inc, and FLW Outdoors.  There is no maximum to the number of members in a club set by TBF, Inc., although a club can set limits on this. For more information and an application for forming a new club, contact the Utah Bass Federation President, George Sommer.
